Heartland Humane Society volunteers will have a number of dogs and cats present during the event.

Make sure to stop by the HHS area and enjoy the animals they bring for the day.  Of course, these animals will be available for adoption thoughout the event.

Schwan’s will be onsite each day.

When:  Saturday, June 1, 2013 – activities beginning at 8:00 a.m.; departure times between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Where:  Starting point at Indian Hills Community College Hellyer Student Life Center

Cost:  $20 for registrations received by May 25; $25 for registrations received May 26-June 1

Three different race routes have been established to meet the varying cycling abilities of participants:

• The shortest route (“Dachshund” route) is an 8.6 mile route from Indian Hills to Heartland Humane and back.
• The second route (“Greyhound” route) is 21.3 miles and will go east from Indian Hills out Alta Vista and follow “The Loop” (basically: Alta Vista to Dahlonega, Angle Road to Bladensburg Road, Bladensburg Road to Agency/Hedrick Highway, north on Agency/Hedrick highway to Dahlonega Road, then west on Dahlonega Road) then to Rochester Road to arrive at Heartland Humane before taking the short/Dachshund route back to Indian Hills.
• The third route (“Wolfhound” route) is 34 miles and will follow the “Greyhound” route to Heartland Humane, and then in reverse to return back to Indian Hills.

At the half-way point, racers can stop at the Heartland Humane Society shelter where food and drinks will be sold.
